Another salgaa accident nakuru kenya

At least five people lost their lives Monday evening at Migaa, in Nakuru County, when a bus and a lorry were involved in a road accident.

The bus belonging to Easy Coach buscompany was completely ripped off by the sheer force and impact of the lorry which was carrying timber.
Pain, horror and death visited the occupants of the two vehicles with mutilated bodies strewn all over the scene as wails of dying souls caused untold panic.
Terrified motorists passing by the horrific scene spoke with hushed tones as villagers covered the bodies which lay by the roadside with clothing items
Once cheerful lives had been snuffed out in seconds by another costly mistake on a highway.
Police had a difficult time rescuing passengers trapped in the wreckage as anxious residents tried to catch a glimpse of the grisly scene. Both drivers of the bus and the lorry were among those who died on the spot while more than 16 people were rushed for treatment in various hospitals in Nakuru town.

Accident scene
Speaking at the scene, Provincial Traffic Enforcement Officer Ms Mary Omari said the accident occurred a few minutes to 5pm at a time the bus was carrying 19 passengers from Nakuru town towards Eldoret, while the lorry was heading to Nakuru from opposite direction.
The accident occurred at Migaa along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway. Ms Omari warned drivers against speeding especially along the busy highway insisting the accident could have been avoided if the lorry driver slowed at the steep section of the road.
“It is sad to lose innocent lives because of personal negligence and I urge drivers to remain extra careful when using our roads,” she appealed.
Emmanuel Omondi among the area residents to arrive at the scene soon after the accident occurred said the driver of the lorry lost control of the vehicle while descending a hill and collided head on with the bus.
