Three pupils killed in dormitory fire at school in Nandi County

Three pupils at SDA Labuiywo Academy in Tinderet, Nandi County were burnt to death after their dormitory caught fire early Saturday.

The fire started at 1 am in the boys’ dormitory where 95 pupils were sleeping.

All the students managed to get out of the burning dormitory but the three went back to salvage their property and were overwhelmed by flames and smoke.

The pupils aged eight, nine and 10 were in class one, three and four respectively.

The cause of the fire has not been establsihed.

The school was closed following the incident.
