Nairobi's soweto estate supermarket fire




Property worth millions of shillings went into flames last night when fire burned down 25 shops and a supermarket at Soweto estate, Nairobi. The fire which started around 7.00pm took fire fighters from various units about 4 hours to put out. The area residents had to run to safety after gas cylinder exploded from the two-storey building causing cracks on the walls.

Reports indicates that 14 people were injured and rushed to various hospitals which included the mama lucy kibaki and the kenyatta hospitals. According to the area police boss the cause of the fire is yet to be established.
