A huge fire on Thursday night razed more than 50 houses to the ground in Kitengela leading to loss estimated to worth millions of shillings. The residents who suspected the fire was started by an electrical fault in one of the houses could not help but watch helplessly as the fire razed on. Eye witness report indicated that the Mavoko fire brigade arrived at the scene 2 hours late only to find everything razed.
This is a wake up call to the Kajiado County government to look into the fire emergency preparedness of the county and build capacity on its fire departments.
