Self Respect among firefighters

The first American President George Washington (1732 - 1799) lived by the rules and one of the rules he valued mostly was self respect. Firefighters are involved in the most dangerous fires and other related emergencies that require resilience and cooperation among the team members. According to President Washington, therefore, self respect must be cultivated amongst the firefighters at the squad and station level. Being a firefighter is a call that requires rules of engagement to be followed to the latter in order to be executed properly.

In President Washington's view:

SELF RESPECT

Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own Reputation; for its better to be alone than in bad company.

Be courteous to all, But intimate with few, And let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.

True friendship is a plant of slow growth, And must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is Entitled to the appreciation.

FIREFIGHTERS EARN RESPECT BY RESPECTING THEIR COLLEAGUES
